Solution to Issue of "Comfort Women" for Imperial Japanese Army Urged
Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Members of the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers' Corps and other civic and public organizations in south Korea and victims of "comfort women" for the imperial Japanese army held a Wednesday meeting in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul on Sept. 23 at which they demanded the solution to the "comfort women" issue.

They condemned the Japanese government for having not yet admitted the crimes related to the past sexual slavery but evaded the responsibility for them. And they demanded that Japan stop the moves to distort its history and settle its disgraceful past history at an early date.

They also urged Japan to describe the crimes related to sexual slavery in history textbooks and institute a special law on the solution to the "comfort women" issue.

Prior to the meeting, the Citizens Council with Grand Mothers of "the Volunteers Corps", the Solidarity for Peace in Asia and Education in History and other civic and public organizations called a press conference in demand of opening to the public documents on such Japan's past crimes as the crimes related to the "comfort women" and human rights abuses.
