DPRK's Birthday Marked
Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- Receptions, photo exhibitions and film shows were held at the DPRK embassies in Laos, Nepal, Iran, India, Thailand, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Uganda, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic, Poland and Austria between Sept. 1 and 8 on the occasion of the 61st birthday of the DPRK.

Displayed in the venues of the functions were works of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, photos on their glorious revolutionary history and exploits and books and photos introducing the DPRK.

Speeches were made at the functions.

The chairman of the Al Hadi Islam Propaganda Organization of Iran praised the founder of the DPRK Kim Il Sung as the greatest man recognized by the world as he defeated two imperialisms in one generation.

The leader of the Party for Thailand said that the DPRK founded by Kim Il Sung has achieved great successes in the fields of politics, economy and culture, adding that the history of modern Korea would be unthinkable apart from the august name of the President.

The chairman of the Nigerian preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung noted that the DPRK is making a dynamic advance to open the gate to a thriving socialist nation in 2012, the centenary of birth of the President, thanks to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il. He wished the Korean people success in their efforts to build a great prosperous and powerful nation.

The participants of the film shows watched "The Faith of Korea", "Reply of Korea" and other Korean films.
