Japan's Moves to Develop Space Weapons under Fire
Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- It was reported that Japan recently launched large carrier rocket H2B-1 and Japan would launch a cargo vehicle HTV every year and a total of seven till 2015 by the above-said rocket.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

Japan claimed that its recent launch of the carrier rocket and its planned launch of more of the same type are aimed at the "use of space for peaceful purposes" but these moves can hardly be interpreted apart from its ever more undisguised moves for militarizing space.

As regards Japan's launch of the above-said rocket, the DPRK can not but remind the world community of the foolish things done by it over the DPRK's launch of a satellite for peaceful purposes.

When the DPRK launched the satellite Kwangmyongsong 2 by rocket Unha 2, the Japanese reactionaries made much fuss about it as if something serious had happened, asserting that it posed "a great threat" to Japan and the like. It was none other than Japan which took the lead in persistently insisting that the DPRK's above-mentioned launch should be brought up for discussion at the UN Security Council.

Japan has taken issue with the DPRK's space development for peaceful purposes while doing whatever it likes.

Availing itself of this opportunity, the DPRK has something to say to the UNSC.

The UNSC has kept mum about the launch of satellites by Japan and south Korea while taking issue with the DPRK's legitimate satellite launch, departing from the principle of impartiality.

The UNSC should not be allowed to repeat such wrong application of double standards in serious violation of the principle of impartiality and the extreme decision to put "sanctions upon the DPRK" should be withdrawn. This is what human conscience demands.

Japan would be well advised to lend an ear to the voices reflecting human conscience and stop the reckless moves for space militarization and for the conversion of it into a military giant, the moves that disturb the global peace and security and spark new arms race and danger of war, urges the commentary.
