Wreaths Laid before Bust of Kim Jong Suk
Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the bust of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese heroine, at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong on Tuesday on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of her demise.

Seen there was a wreath from leader Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and the supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were senior party, army and state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, leading officials of party, armed forces and power organs, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons and working people and school youth and children in Pyongyang.

Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, wreaths were placed before the bust in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the Cabinet of the DPRK.

Also laid were wreaths on behalf of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, public organizations, ministries, national institutions, KPA units, scientific, educational, cultural and art, public health and press organs, the joint national organization of the Korean Children's Union and party and power organs, factories and farms in Pyongyang.

Written on the ribbons of wreaths were letters reading "The revolutionary exploits of Comrade Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese heroine, is immortal!"

The participants observed a silent tribute, looking back upon the noble life of Kim Jong Suk.

On the same day baskets of flowers were laid before her statues in Kim Jong Suk County and Hoeryong City and at Kim Jong Suk Naval University and Kim Jong Suk General Military Academy.
