Kim Yong Nam Meets LPRP Delegation
Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a friendly talk with the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led by Asang Laoly, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the LPRP and chairman of the Control Commission of its Central Committee who is vice-prime minister and president of the State Inspection Commission of Laos, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Thursday.

The head of the delegation asked Kim Yong Nam to convey greetings sent to General Secretary
Kim Jong Il by President of Laos Choummaly Saynasone, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

Kim Yong Nam expressed deep thanks for this and asked the head of the delegation to convey the greetings sent by Kim Jong Il to Choummaly Saynasone.

The head of the delegation said that during the visit to the DPRK, he was deeply impressed to see the Korean people accelerating the building of a thriving socialist nation under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea led by Kim Jong Il.

He referred to the fact that the two parties and the two countries have made positive efforts to strengthen and develop the friendly and cooperative relations between Laos and the DPRK provided by Kaysone Phomvihane and President Kim Il Sung.

He stressed that the party, the government and the people of Laos would support the just cause of the party, the government and the people of the DPRK for the independent and peaceful reunification of the country in the future, too.

Present there were Kim Thae Jong, vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, officials concerned and Chaleune Warinthrasak, Lao ambassador to the DPRK.
