Wreaths Laid at Martyrs Cemeteries, Monuments, Statues and Graves
Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong and the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery on Wednesday on the occasion of the birthday of the DPRK.

Seen standing on the wreath-laying stands of the cemeteries were wreaths sent by Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Among the participants were senior party, army and state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the KPA and working people in Pyongyang.

Wreaths were laid before the cemeteries in the name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, the DPRK Cabinet, the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, working people's organizations, ministries, national institutions, KPA units, educational, public health and media institutions, party and power organs and industrial establishments and farms in the city.

The participants paid high tribute to the martyrs.

Meanwhile, wreaths, bouquets and flowers were laid before the statues of martyrs, the monuments to fallen fighters of the KPA and the graves of martyrs in various parts of the country on the same day.
