Homage Paid to Kim Il Sung
Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- Senior party and state officials, commanding officers of the Korean People's Army, the chairperson of a friendly party and leading officials of the party and armed forces bodies and working people's organizations visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace on Wednesday on the occasion of the birthday of the DPRK, and paid tribute to President Kim Il Sung.

Laid before the statue of the President was a floral basket in the joint name of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, the WPK Central Military Commission, the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the DPRK Cabinet.

The participants paid high tribute to the statue of Kim Il Sung, the father of socialist Korea and the founder and builder of the DPRK, and made a bow to him in humble reverence.

That day, anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, servicepersons of the KPA and people from all walks of life visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace.

On the same day the diplomatic corps, the military attaches corps and representatives of international organizations here, the director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, the delegation of Kyodo News of Japan and the congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan and other foreign guests and overseas compatriots visited the palace and paid homage to the President.
