Anniversary of Start of Songun Revolutionary Leadership Marked
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- Lectures were sponsored by the Socialist Party of Romania, the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung, the Indian Intellectuals' Society for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Indian Working Women Society for Study of the Juche Philosophy from Aug. 23 to 25 on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.

Vasile Orleanu, chairman of the Supreme Council of the Socialist Party of Romania, said in a lecture referred to the exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung. He praised Kim Jong Il for having wisely led the struggle of the Korean people to build a thriving socialist nation on the land of the DPRK, the legacy bequeathed to the Korean people by the President, pursuant to the original Songun politics.

Shrendra Singh, secretary general of the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung, said that Kim Jong Il has trained the Korean People's Army into an important political force leading the socialist cause, militant ranks reliably defending the socialist cause and a powerful revolutionary force steering the overall socialist construction.

V. K. Chopra, chairman of the Indian Intellectuals' Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, noted that under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il the KPA has grown to be an invincible army and the Korean people have brought about fresh miracles and innovations in the building of a thriving nation, shattering all machinations of the imperialists.

A seminar and a meeting were held in Pakistan and a Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibition, a lecture and a film show in Brazil on Aug. 21 and 24 on the occasions of the 49th anniversary of
Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership and the 61st birthday of the DPRK.

A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.
