Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to Munchon Secondary School
Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to Munchon Secondary School honored with the title of thrice red flag in the city of Munchon.

Kim Jong Il paid tribute to the statue of President Kim Il Sung at the school before looking round the room devoted to the history of the school.

The school has lots of relics that bear witness to revolutionary activities of the President. He visited the school on October 22, 1953 right after the ceasefire and personally chose the site for the new school building.

Kim Jong Il noted that the school built before any other buildings on debris after the war has developed into the nation's leading model school under the meticulous care of the President.

He went round the computer room, the room for the study of teaching methods, the bio-laboratory and other places to acquaint himself in detail with the education and upbringing there.

Saying that the education of the rising generation is an important affair on which hinges the rise or fall of the country and an important requirement for successfully accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche, he advanced important tasks which would serve as guidelines for the education and upbringing at the school.

It is the primary task of the students to be good at study, he noted, underlining the need for the schools to train the younger generation into persons of talent fully capable of contributing to the accomplishment of the cause of building a thriving nation.

He also underscored the need for the schools to help the students fully acquire general secondary knowledge during the secondary school days and intensify the computer education from the phases of primary and secondary education so that they may make a satisfactory use of computers while at school.

He said that a teacher is not only directly responsible for the education but a professional revolutionary who performs an honorable task for training the rising generation as successors to the revolution.

He expressed expectation and belief that the teachers of the school would steadily improve the contents of the education as required by the daily rising cultural and technological level of the society and thus register greater successes in the education of the younger generation. He gave a lot of educational equipment to the school as gifts.

He was accompanied by Ri Chol Bong, chief secretary of the Kangwon Provincial Committee of the WPK, and leading officials of the C.C., the WPK.
