KCNA Slashes at Japan's Moves to Establish MDS
Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- Japan is frantically stepping up its moves to establish the missile defence system (MDS).

The Ministry of Defense of Japan on August 15 decided to deploy an expanded network of PAC-3 capable of intercepting ballistic missiles from the ground throughout the country. According to this decision, PAC-3s will be deployed at six anti-air units of the Air Self-Defence Force after modifying the plan to deploy them at its three anti-air units. Right after the decision was announced, the ministry made it clear on August 21 that it formally deployed PAC-3 in the ASDF base in Gifu Prefecture.

The Japanese authorities claimed this was taken to cope with the "missile threat" from the DPRK. This is, however, nothing but sophism to hide the offensive and aggressive nature of the action.

The above-said military step taken by the Japanese reactionaries indicates that their preparations for reinvasion are being stepped with increased zeal under the scenario for preemptive attack.

It is by no means fortuitous that the said decision was made on the basis of the theories of "acquiring capability to attack enemy bases" and "mounting a preemptive nuclear attack".

Japan has already deployed spy satellites for the purpose of detecting targets of preemptive attack in space. It is, at the same time, hastening the introduction of an early warning satellite for the MDS.

The Japanese reactionaries are busy stepping up the preparations for preemptive attack in all aspects ranging from detecting targets to attack and defence. This is increasing the danger of war in Northeast Asia and escalating the military tension there. There is no knowing about when Japan will start reinvasion to realize its wild ambition for overseas expansion.

The above-mentioned military decision is aimed at securing a military strategic edge over the neighboring powers while rounding off the preparations for a preemptive attack.

Japan is getting evermore undisguised in its moves to emerge a military giant, posing an ever-increasing military threat to the countries in the region and the international community. This reveals its invariable militarist ambition to become the "leader of Asia" and realize the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere".

But the Japanese reactionaries are seriously mistaken.

Asia today is not what it used to be in the past. The international community is following with vigilance the frenzied moves of Japan to launch reinvasion under the pretext of "threat" from others.

The Japanese reactionaries had better stop their rash acts.
