Pyongyang, August 28 (KCNA) -- Jiri Jarka, honorary chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association, issued a statement on August 25 expressing deep concern over the Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities.
The statement said that the main objective of the joint military exercises was to mount a surprise preemptive attack on the DPRK.
The DPRK is exposed to a potential threat posed by the ceaseless provocations of the U.S. and Korea still remains divided, it noted.
Accusing the U.S. of illegally keeping south Korea under its occupation in violation of the Korean Armistice Agreement and the resolution of the 30th UN General Assembly, the statement denounced the dangerous military exercises of the U.S. threatening the peace on the Korean Peninsula and blocking its reunification.
