U.S. Urged to Roll back Its Hostile Policy toward DPRK
Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- Members of the delegation of the World Peace Council on a visit to the DPRK denounced the U.S. for threatening peace on the Korean Peninsula and obstructing the reunification of Korea and urged it to roll back its hostile policy towards the DPRK.

Elke Zwinge-Makamizile, member of the council, accused the U.S. of staging nuclear war exercises with huge armed forces involved every year, straining the situation on the peninsula.

If the U.S. sincerely wishes the reunification and peace of Korea, it should stop the reckless and dangerous nuclear war exercises, replace the Armistice Agreement with a peace agreement and withdraw its troops from south Korea at once, she urged.

Binayak Batachariya, member of the council, demanded the U.S. drop its hostile policy towards the DPRK and cease hamstringing the Korean people's efforts to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea in line with the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

Iraklis Tsavdaridis, executive secretary of the council, expressed full support to the Korean people in their struggle to force the U.S. to pull back its troops from south Korea, achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and carve out their future by their own efforts.

The WPC strongly demands the U.S. roll back its hostile policy towards the DPRK, he declared.
