Ulji Freedom Guardian Slammed by Nepalese Organizations
Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- The Nepal-Korea Friendship Association, the Nepalese Committee for Promotion of Reunification of Korea, the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Committee of Nepal, the Nepal Institute for the Juche Studies, the National Press Club of Nepal, the Forum for Self-Reliance Studies of Nepal, the Nepal Journalist Association, the Nepalese Association for Supporting the Songun Politics, the Action Committee for Peace of Nepal, the Anti-Imperialist Forum of Nepal and the National Association of Mass Media of Nepal issued a joint statement on Aug. 19 in denunciation of the Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises being staged by the U.S. and the south Korean authorities.

The statement bitterly condemned the large-scale UFG joint military exercises, noting with serious concern that the situation on the Korean Peninsula is further deteriorating due to the saber rattling.

It went on:

The ongoing military maneuvers are aimed to invade the DPRK and mount a surprise preemptive strike at it to all intents and purposes. In view of this situation the Supreme Command of the Korean People's Army ordered the entire army, all the people and the whole country to be put on a special alert. This is an entirely just measure taken by the DPRK to defend its sovereignty, dignity and socialist system.

The statement demanded the U.S. withdraw its troops and all nukes from south Korea for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and peace and stability in Asia.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Colombia-Korea Association of Friendship and Culture in a statement issued on Aug. 18 denouncing the UFG expressed full support and solidarity with the Korean people in their just cause.
