Ulji Freedom Guardian Branded as Dangerous Test Nuclear War

Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- The Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises kicked off by the United States and the south Korean warmongers are ones for aggression to all intents and purposes; they are an undisguised challenge and grave threat to the peace in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Asia.

Rodong Sinmun Sunday observes this in a signed article.

The UFG is provocative saber rattling for invading the DPRK as it is aimed to drive the worst situation in the peninsula to a phase where a nuclear war may break out any time.

The situation prevailing in the peninsula which stands at the crossroads of war or peace requires the army and people of the DPRK to keep themselves in full readiness with the highest degree of vigilance.

It is the revolutionary stand and mode of counteraction for the army of the DPRK to react to the enemy's rifle with an artillery piece, its "sanctions" with merciless retaliation and its "confrontation" with all-out confrontation.

If the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean warmongers perpetrate even the slightest military provocative act of encroaching upon the sovereignty of the DPRK, its revolutionary armed forces which have grown stronger a hundred times thanks to Songun will inflict merciless and prompt crushing blows at the aggressors by mobilizing all the offensive and defensive means including nuclear deterrent.
