Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- The Brandenburg State Committee of the Communist Party of Germany issued a statement on August 18 denouncing the Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises being staged by the United States and the south Korean puppet clique.
The statement noted that the DPRK-targeted UFG does not help solve the problem but escalates the tension on the Korean Peninsula as it is being staged under the unprecedentedly tense situation prevailing there these days.
All these facts go to prove that the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean warmongers are the arch criminals disturbing peace and stability on the peninsula, the statement said, and continued:
It was quite natural for the DPRK to have taken strong measures for self-defense to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country. The statement strongly demanded the U.S. and the south Korean authorities stop at once the UFG for aggression.
It expressed full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to defend the dignity of the country and the nation.
