S. Korean Students Vow Anti-"government" Struggle
Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- University student representatives from across south Korea, including members of the south Korean Federation of University Students in the 21st Century and the Students Committee of the Democratic Labor Party, held a rally for punishing Lee Myung Bak and restoring democracy at Hongik University on August 14.

A video on the Ryongsan tragedy and the Ssangyong Motor Co. case caused by the conservative ruling forces was shown at the rally before speeches were made.

The speakers charged that the Lee Myung Bak "government" has brutally cracked down upon the struggles of different circles for vital rights while stifling democracy and intensifying the fascist dictatorship.

They demanded that the present "government" totally retract its "administration" consistent with fascist dictatorship and confrontation with fellow countrymen and pay attention to the voice of the people.

If the authorities insist on the treacherous rule, disregarding the demands of different circles, all the university students will take the lead in the struggle for realizing democracy and forcing the dictatorial "government" to step down, they warned.
