The Japanese reactionaries included in the paragraph 3 of an "agreement" concluded with south Korea in Juche 54 (1965) that the south Korean "government" is the "legitimate one" in the Korean Peninsula. In return, the unheard-of crimes committed by Japan against the Korean nation during its protracted colonial rule were nullified and a way was opened for reinvading Korea.

When the joint statement between the north and the south was issued on July 4, 1972 on the basis of the three principles of national reunification, the Japanese reactionaries with malicious intention not only openly slandered the three principles of national reunification but also viciously opposed it. At the end of speaking ill of the three principles of national reunification, the then Japanese ambassador to south Korea did not hesitate to make reckless remarks that Japan wants division of Korea because the tragedy of Korea's reunification is greater than that of division.

The Japanese reactionaries have been engaged in slandering various reunification proposals of the DPRK including the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo, the proposal for converting the Korean Peninsula into nuclear-free peace zone and the proposal for wholesale disarmament in the Korean Peninsula and praised sky-high the separatist line of south Korea. When the south Korean authorities issued the separatist "July 7 declaration", Japan fully welcomed and supported it before anyone else, describing it as "way" for Korea's reunification and also undertook the role of "bridge" for the "northern policy" of the U.S.

Besides, they came out with a "conditional invitation" at several UN general assembly sessions including the 20th General Assembly in an attempt to prevent the DPRK representative from participating in and resorted to base means of bribing others for the purpose. They cunningly maneuvered not to disorganize the "UN Commission on the Unification and Rehabilitation of Korea", a tool of aggression, that the U.S. had concocted by usurping the name of the United Nations.

Even today after half a century has passed, the Japanese reactionaries are hell bent on sanction and pressure of the DPRK, availing themselves of the U.S. hostile policy against it, and thus are committing double and treble crimes against the Korean nation.
