Japan's Policy of Overseas Aggression Flayed
Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- Japan recently worked out a report which would serve as a basis for "defence program guidelines" at "round-table talks on security and defence capability."

It underscored the need for Japan and the U.S. to push forward the joint development and production of mainstay fighters of the next generation under the pretext of "threats" from the DPRK and China and claimed it is necessary to reexamine the existing Constitution which bans the exercise of "the right to collective self-defense" in a bid to intercept missiles to be launched by someone towards the U.S.

Minju Joson Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

Japan is keen to lay a foundation for accelerating the modernization of arms and equipment by way of boosting the cooperation with the U.S. in military production and regain the right to participate in a war under the pretext of making a contribution to defusing the "threat to the security" of the U.S.

Lurking behind Japan's accusations against the DPRK and China is a sinister design for military hegemony.

It is the strategic calculation of the Japanese reactionaries to assign the "Self-Defence Forces (SDF)" an offensive mission for carrying out overseas aggression as its original mission is limited to the defence of its territory and bolster up the SDF's military ability in all aspects commensurate with it such as arms and equipment, commanding system and the capability for conducting joint operations with foreign armed forces.

Japan newly set up an "international rapid reaction team" and "a group for metropolitan defence." It took a measure to ensure that all the units specialize in overseas activities and metropolitan defence under the coordinated leadership of the "general command of ground force".

Japan decided to set up such military machine as the General Staff Office of the Ground Force of the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second World War in the direction of attaching importance to the western part of Japan and deploy the ground SDF on Yonakuni Island, Okinawa Prefecture on the westernmost tip of its territory. This brought the SDF's nature of continental aggression into bolder relief.

It has become obvious that Japan is seeking a war, not peace and keen to achieve its aim in the near future.

The Japanese reactionaries would be well advised to stop ballyhooing about "threat" from someone, which can convince no one but roll back at once their policy of overseas aggression bound to lead to self-destruction.
