Strict Observance of Principle of Equality among States Called for
Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- Relations between states should be equal and the principle of reciprocity be observed under any circumstances.

Rodong Sinmun Friday holds this in a signed article.

It goes on:

The principle of equality is a fundamental rule of action to be observed in the relations between countries and one of the universally accepted guidelines for external activities.

Failure to observe the principle of equality would lead to the violation of the sovereignty of countries in the international arena and the appearance of the ties of domination and subjugation, the unequal relations among countries and allow some countries to conduct high-handed and arbitrary acts, hurdles in the way of ensuring democracy in the international community.

Now that some countries seek to preserve and strengthen the unequal old international order on the basis of their superior military and economic potentials it stands out as a more urgent issue to observe the principle of equality.

If the principle of equality based on independence is not observed in the international relations, progressive humankind cannot free itself from the imperialists' yoke of domination and subjugation.

Only when all the countries and nations firmly maintain the principle of equality in the international relations, is it possible to form and develop the relations of cooperation, reciprocity and non-interference in each other's internal affairs among countries and nations. This will help the countries and nations fully guarantee and consolidate their sovereignty and build new world, independent, peaceful and friendly.

The DPRK has stood for the development of the international relations based on the principle of equal sovereignty and made positive efforts to ensure it, the article notes, declaring it will firmly maintain the principle of equality in the relations between states and wage a positive struggle for the development of the fair international relations in the future, too.
