Puppet Authorities' Suppression of Jongyojo Flayed
Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The Teachers Union (Jongyojo) of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on July 31 denouncing the puppet authorities for their suppression of the organization.

The organization in a press release accused the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of referring 89 leading members of Jongyojo to the prosecution on the charge that they were responsible for issuing its second declaration on the situation and threatening to have its chairman fired and all the members of its executive committee dismissed.

The authorities took such disciplinary measure against them for the mere reason that they conducted the above-said legitimate movement in demand of social democracy, the press release recalled, stressing that lurking behind the action of the authorities is a sinister intention to calm down the people's discontent with their unpopular educational policy by suppressing the organization.

Pointing to the evermore dynamic movement being waged by people from all walks of life to issue declarations on the situation in protest against the Lee Myung Bak regime, the press release declared the organization would carry on the struggle to the last despite any threat and violence on the part of the authorities and put an end to the fascist dictatorship.
