Korean People's War Victory Day Celebrated in Various Countries
Pyongyang, August 3 (KCNA) -- Lectures and a film show were held in Senegal and Iran from July 20 to 24 to mark the 56th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Speeches were made at the events.

Modou Sal, general secretary of the Senegalese Ministry of Town Planning, Housing, Urban Hydraulics, Public Hygiene and Sanitation, highly praised President Kim Il Sung as the invincible and iron-willed commander who shattered the myth of "mightiness" of the U.S.

He noted that the U.S. attempted to easily "conquer" the young DPRK with its superiority in number and technique but drank a bitter cup of defeat in the Korean War.

At present no country dare provoke the DPRK, and it is only the DPRK that has strength able to deter any U.S. arrogant practice, he stressed.

The secretary general of the International Taekwon-Do Association of Iran said that July 27 is the historic day when the Korean people defeated the U.S. who boasted of being "the strongest" in the world. The victory won by the Korean people in the war with the U.S. was entirely attributable to the wise and seasoned leadership of Kim Il Sung, he noted.

Noting that the national strength of the DPRK has reached the highest level under the Songun politics of General Secretary Kim Jong Il, he went on:

The Iranian people are rejoiced as over their own over the achievements made by the Korean people in all fields and extend warm congratulations to them. They are convinced that the Korean people will surely build a great prosperous and powerful nation.

Appreciated at the film show was Korean film "The Faith of Korea".

Meanwhile Andy Brooks, general secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Britain, issued a statement on July 26 on the said occasion.
