Contained in the book are 37 works, including historic speeches, conclusions and talks, published by the President from July to December Juche 74 (1985).

Expounded in those works are the ideas, theories and policies that serve as guidelines in giving full play to the advantages of the socialist system in the DPRK by pushing ahead with socialist construction to meet the requirements of the developing revolution and realizing national reunification and global independence.

Among them are works "On Further Updating the System and Method of the Socialist Economic Management as Required by the Developing Reality" and "On Some Tasks for Strengthening Companies of the People's Army", which clarify the tasks and ways for rapidly developing the national economy and the matters arising in improving the standard of people's living and increasing the revolutionary armed forces in every way.

"Talk to a delegation of the international liaison committee for independent and peaceful reunification of Korea", "Socialist Countries Should Be Firmly United to Jointly Counter the Aggression and War Moves of the Imperialists" and other works deal with the principled problems arising in achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and the matters of building an independent new world by concentrating efforts on the realization of South-South cooperation and establishment of a new international economic order.

Also expounded in the book are such problems arising in advancing the revolution and construction to victory as following the noble fighting spirit of the anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs, providing the visitors to the revolutionary battle sites with good living conditions and strengthening the work to preserve and take care of cultural relics.
