Violent Suppression by Police under Fire in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification issued a statement on July 23 to denounce the puppet police for its brutal and murderous crackdown upon the unionists of the Ssangyong Motor Co.

Such violent suppression is little different from the massacres committed by the military dictators in the past, the statement pointed out, declaring that the organization would never overlook but punish to the last those who committed the violent actions in which the people have been dealt with as "enemies."

The statement urged the authorities to unconditionally pull the police out of the place where the strike is going on and stop inhumane actions against the unionists.

Warning that Lee Myung Bak would be forced to pay dearly if an unexpected accident happens again, it stressed that all the people would fully support the unionists in their struggle.

Meanwhile, on July 24 674 elders and representatives of different public circles, including the director of the Institute for Unification Studies, made public a declaration on the situation demanding a proper settlement of the crisis of Ssangyong Motor Co., according to south Korean Yonhap News.
