U.S. Imperialists' Indiscriminate Bombing during Korean War
Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists turned the towns and villages of the northern half of Korea into ashes during the Korean war (June of 1950 to July of 1953).

In an attempt to destroy everything of the country and exterminate the entire Korean nation, they perpetrated indiscriminate bombing over the towns and villages in gross violation of international laws and humanitarian principles.

For three years of the war, the aggressors dropped bombs of hundreds of thousands of tons over the northern half of Korea and showered a lot of napalm and rocket bombs and machine-gun bullets upon it.

They dropped more than 428,000 bombs only in Pyongyang City on over 1,400 occasions in the whole period of the war.

The indiscriminate bombings destroyed at least 8,700 factories, manufacturing buildings and production equipment and damaged hundreds of thousands of hectares of cropland, with the result that 90,000 hectares of cultivated land decreased.

The destruction of power stations and reservoirs was also indescribable.

The U.S. bombers destroyed or burnt down national cultural relics in a big way and indiscriminately bombed theaters, cinemas, libraries and other cultural facilities and churches, too.

The hospitals with red cross mark were not ruled out.

In 1951 alone, more than 30 hospitals and clinics were bombed only in Pyongyang City.

The U.S. bombing raids unprecedented in the world history of war reduced the DPRK to ashes to the letter.

All the Korean army and people will never forget the fiendish barbarities perpetrated by the U.S. imperialists and will take revenge a hundredfold.
