Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- The low atmospheric pressure which traveled to the East Sea of Korea via the northern parts of the West Sea of Korea brought heavy rains to various areas of the DPRK.
The rainfall in Pyongyang, Yodok area of South Hamgyong Province, Maengsan, Sinyang, Phyongsong, Songchon and Tokchon areas of South Phyongan Province was respectively 234mm, 287mm, 231mm, 202mm, 195mm, 191mm and 187mm in the hours from 12:00 on July 17 to 15:00 on July 18.
Pyongyang, Phyongsong, Sunchon and Maengsan areas of South Phyongan Province and Yodok area of South Hamgyong Province had downpours with precipitation of over 50-130mm from 00:00 to 03:00, from 03:00 to 06:00, from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 09:00 to 12:00 on the 18th.
Pyongyang was hit by a torrential rain of 64-175mm between 12:00 and 15:00 on Saturday in particular.
