U.S. Racket of "Sanctions" against DPRK Flailed
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification, the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Korean Catholic Priests' Council for Justice and other organizations grouping people of various social standings of south Korea held the 118th anti-U.S. solidarity rally in Seoul on July 14.

The speakers disclosed that the U.S. is keen to set in motion the State Department, Defense Department, Treasury Department and other departments in a bid to tighten "sanctions" and pressure upon the DPRK.

This misjudgment can be made only by those who are ignorant of the DPRK, they held, stressing "sanctions" and pressure would only embolden the DPRK to take strong countermeasures and aggravate the conflict between the DPRK and the U.S.

Underscoring the need to remove the main reason why the nuclear issue was spawned on the Korean Peninsula, they contended that the only way is for the U.S. to defuse its nuclear threat and roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK as they have persisted for several decades.

They urged the U.S. to pull back its forces from south Korea, scrap the south Korea-U.S. "alliance" for aggression and give up its commitment to provide a "nuclear umbrella" to south Korea as early as possible.

They demanded the U.S. immediately lift "the sanctions" and pressure upon the DPRK and opt for dialogue with the north.
