More Dynamic Movement for National Reunification Called for

Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities are getting evermore undisguised in their repressive offensive to crack down upon and stamp out the pro-reunification democratic forces. This reality urgently requires the pro-reunification democratic forces to firmly unite under the banner of the north-south joint declaration in order to resolutely frustrate the anti-reunification repressive offensive of the group of traitors and to reenergize the movement for national reunification.

Rodong Sinmun Thursday observes this in a signed article.

It goes on:

Tremendous is the strength of the popular masses united close as one with the will for reunification and patriotism. Only when they rely on their strength is it possible to frustrate any frantic fascist repressive offensive of the anti-reunification forces and bring about a surge in the movement for national reunification.

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration serve as a great programme for the country's reunification common to the nation and a banner of national unity.

Whoever stands for the country's reunification should resolutely defend and support the said declarations and increase solidarity and alliance in the struggle to implement them. This represents the unity of the pro-reunification democratic forces.

The brutal suppression of the progressive organizations in south Korea is little short of an unpardonable anti-reunification fascist offensive as it is aimed at branding all activities to achieve the concord of the nation and the country's reunification and co-prosperity by implementing the said declarations as "illegal" and "enemy-benefiting" ones and indiscriminately suppressing them and stamping out the movement for the country's reunification.

If these repressive actions are allowed to go on, not only the above-said organizations but all the progressive organizations of the reunification movement in south Korea will fall victim to the fascist crackdown at the point of bayonet and this will entail irrevocable grave consequences.

The only way out is for the pro-reunification democratic forces of various circles to decisively frustrate the fascist repressive offensive of the group of traitors going against the trend of the June 15 era of reunification by their concerted efforts.
