Women Can Do Anything
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese heroine, visited the house of an anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter in Ranam City (then) in September of Juche 36 (1947).

The fighter's wife, an official of the women's union, was deeply moved by the unexpected visit of the heroine.

Kim Jong Suk exchanged cordial greetings with her before asking her about the affairs of the union.

Though the social status of women was improved after the promulgation of the Law on Sex Equality, the women in the area did not get rid of survivals of feudal ideas by that time.

Having acquainted herself with the fact, Kim Jong Suk instructed the official that the women's union should inspire women to the building of a new society in every way and the women had nothing impossible when they were firmly determined to implement President Kim Il Sung's policy for building a state.

Kim Jong Suk asked her what she was doing in the women's union and added that the women should take an active part in the social life along with the family life and the women's union members assist army units in a positive way.

Noting that the women should do their bit in the construction of a new society, she said with emphasis that they should work with all devotion for building a state in perfect accord.

Kim Jong Suk, with warm affection of teaching her mere daughter how to start to walk, taught the woman how to work. The instruction deeply excited her.
