Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- The rainy season has set in the DPRK.

Anti-flood measures are being taken throughout the country to cope with the rainy seasons every year.

The sector of the power industry has repaired and readjusted on a regular basis the hydraulic structures including the dams of the hydro-power stations and intakes on waterways so as to produce electricity without interruption in the rainy season.

The sector of the mining industry is checking, repairing and reinforcing all the drainage facilities of the pits to prevent them from being inundated and the excavated coal and ore from being washed away.

Thorough measures are being taken in the field of railway transportation to protect railway facilities and structures including railroads, railway bridges and retaining walls in the northern inland and east coastal areas from torrential rain.

The people in the agricultural sector have repaired and adjusted in time the drainage pumping stations and drainage facilities so as to keep them in full operation.

Meanwhile, co-op farms across the country are digging out deeper the waterways and ditches to protect the land under cultivation, crops and agricultural production facilities from any heavy rainfall.

The sectors of the land and environmental conservation and the city management are checking the rivers, waterways, reservoirs, sewerage networks and storm sewerage system to eliminate the imperfect points.They are now exerting effort to manage them in a regular way.

People in the barrage management field are fully ready to drain out in time any flood by regularly managing sluices and those in the hydrometeorological administration guarantee the swiftness and scientific accuracy of the data.
