Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- A Sri Lankan national preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung was inaugurated with due ceremony on July 1.
Anura Pnyadar Shana Yapa, minister of Mass Information and chairman of the Sri Lanka-People's Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee at the ceremony.
It discussed the issue of widely holding colorful events including a meeting, seminar and photo exhibition praising the immortal exploits performed by Kim Il Sung in the human cause of independence on the occasion of the centenary of birth of the President.
