Present there were Chief Vice-Chairman Ho Jong Man and vice-chairmen of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), deputies to the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, advisors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, the head of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan, directors of the above-said committee, leading officials of central organizations and enterprises of Chongryon, and officials and advisors of the Chongryon headquarters in Kanto area and compatriots and Korean youth and students.

The participants in the service observed a moment's silence in memory of President Kim Il Sung.

In the address he said that Kim Il Sung was a peerlessly great man who performed immortal feats for the prosperity of the country and the nation with noble patriotism during his whole life. The President is always alive in the hearts of the Korean nation and the world's progressive people, he stressed.

The speaker recalled that the President put forward the Korean residents in Japan, who suffered humiliation with sorrow of being members of a ruined nation in the past, as overseas citizens of the DPRK and formed Chongryon, definitely turning the movement of Koreans in Japan into a patriotic movement guided by the Juche idea.

Noting that the President's revolutionary idea and exploits have been creditably defended and developed by General Secretary Kim Jong Il, he said that Kim Jong Il is leading Chongryon associated with the President's physical and mental energy to victory and taking warm care of it with paternal love while reliably defending the national dignity and rights of the Korean residents in Japan.

The Chongryon officials and compatriots in Japan will lay a solid foundation to bring about a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan this year by keeping step with the people in the homeland who are making great leap forward and innovations to open the gate to a great prosperous and powerful nation in 2012, the centenary of the birth of the President, he declared.
