This is nothing but an open declaration of a war against all the progressive forces in south Korea including forces desirous of achieving reunification through alliance with the north and a vicious anti-reunification fascist offensive aimed at totally eliminating them.

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes this in a signed commentary.

It goes on:

In the first six months of the year alone the fascist authorities harshly cracked down upon the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration, the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification and other organizations under it, branding them as the "enemy benefiting organizations."

The Lee regime's suppression aimed at stamping out the pro-reunification patriotic forces, in fact, reminds one of a "war" as it is large-scale and merciless.

Lurking behind this repressive racket are the extreme uneasiness of the group of traitors about their ruling crisis and a wicked intention to turn the whole of south Korea into a tundra of the reunification movement and anti-"government" struggle by eliminating all pro-reunification patriotic forces that stand in the way of implementing the policy of confrontation with the DPRK under the pretext of "security."

The group of traitors has become bete noire and a target to be toppled for its anachronistic confrontation with fellow countrymen and misrule. It is, therefore, seeking a way out of the crisis in perpetrating wholesale crackdown upon the pro-reunification patriotic forces.

The above-mentioned suppression of the pro-reunification patriotic forces amounts to a wanton negation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and an intolerable challenge to the whole nation desirous of the independent reunification under the banner of "By our nation itself."

The nation will never pardon the group of traitors getting evermore frantic in the suppression of pro-reunification forces swimming against the trend of the times.
