Adherence to Principle of Independence Called for
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Each country and nation should hold fast to the principle of independence and display strong spirit and will for independence and wage a dynamic struggle to frustrate the moves of the imperialists to realize their ambition for domination, depending upon the outdated international order.

Rodong Sinmun Friday observes this in a signed article.

The experience and reality of the DPRK prove that a country is sure to emerge victorious when it holds fast to the principle of independence, the article notes, and goes on:

This principle is based on the revolutionary faith and will.

For a country to claim that it fights against an imperialist formidable enemy without faith and will is no more than an empty slogan. Only when a country fights with firm faith and will can it adhere to the principle of independence and win victory, remaining undeterred by any threat and blackmail of the imperialists.

If a country is to stand firm against and win over the vicious imperialist forces it should have staunch fighting spirit that it can pull through any obstacle and blockade and unshakable courage and pluck that there is always a way out. One will not be able to stand the raging wind raised by imperialists and one's life will be hanged by a thread if one lacks them.

One should consider whatever one does as a right thing and make a bold decision on anything if it is for the sake of the nation and tenaciously implement it, not wavering or reading others' faces no matter what they may say.

What is important for maintaining the principle of independence is to bolster up the national defence capability, consolidate the foundations of the independent economy and strengthen unity.

The DPRK has dynamically advanced the socialist cause, the cause of Songun revolution, on the firm principle of independence.

The hostile forces are now making desperate efforts to check the advance of the people of the DPRK while kicking up a racket of "sanctions" against it over its nuclear test for self-defence, but this would get them nowhere.

The moves of the enemies to bring down the DPRK and socialism are bound to meet failure and frustration in face of the DPRK which has held fast to the above-said principle.
