U.S. Promise to Provide "Nuclear Umbrella" to S. Korea Blasted
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The U.S. chief executive invited puppet traitor Lee Myung Bak of south Korea to visit Washington in mid-June and promised him to provide "extended deterrence" including "nuclear umbrella" to south Korea and made it public in an official document.

Minju Joson Tuesday in a signed commentary says that this is, in essence, nothing but an open declaration before the world that the U.S. would not rule out even a nuclear war against the DPRK.

The commentary cites facts to prove that the U.S. recently talked about someone's "nuclear attack" on south Korea but this is no more than rhetoric to justify its scenario for a nuclear war.

What merits a serious attention is that the U.S. and south Korea declared that they would openly put into practice their scenario for a nuclear attack on the DPRK which has been secretly pushed forward in the backroom for years, the commentary notes, and goes on:

There are already signs of this development.

There are reports that the nuclear-powered carrier George Washington has appeared in the waters close to the Korean Peninsula and the U.S. 7th fleet combat group led by the nuclear-powered carrier Ronald Reagan left its mainland and headed for Northeast Asia.

This compels the DPRK to openly stand in the nuclear confrontation with the U.S.

The escalated military moves of the U.S. to stifle the DPRK with preemptive nuclear attacks would only prompt the latter to bolster up its nuclear deterrent for self-defence to protect its sovereignty and security.

This is the only way of preventing the outbreak of a war and defending the territory of the country and the lives and security of the Koreans.

The U.S. will be held fully accountable for all the consequences to be entailed by the nuclear stand-off between the DPRK and the U.S.
