Lee Myung Bak Group's Misrule Protested in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- People from different walks of life in south Korea launched the struggle against the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' unpopular policy in Seoul on June 27.

A rally was held in the plaza of the city office by the All-People Measure Committee for Checking the Project of Destroying Four Large Rivers and Protecting Them for Life, which consists of over 450 civic and public organizations, four religious orders and opposition parties.

The participants in the rally charged that the project for "adjusting four large rivers," being enforced by the Lee Myung Bak "government," is a replica of the "grand canal project" rejected by the population as it is for destroying natural environment and battening big businesses.

It is also a reckless undertaking of destroying the four large rivers with the investment of tremendous taxes paid by the people, they pointed out, urging the Lee "government" to rescind the unpopular project at once.

Prior to the rally, lawmakers from opposition parties staged a sit-in strike in the plaza, protesting against the police's decision to "disallow" the rally.

Meanwhile, more than 6,000 members of the Public Service Trade Union under the KCTU (the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions) held a rally in Youido to declare a general strike for defending their vital rights.

On the same day, a memorial service took place on the spot of the Ryongsan tragic case under the sponsorship of the All-People Measure Committee against the Murder of Evacuees in Ryongsan.
