Struggle to Force Dictatorial Regime to Step down Called for
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Action Headquarters of the 17th-term south Korean Federation of University Student Councils issued a statement on June 26 calling for waging an indomitable struggle to force the dictatorial regime to step down.

The statement accused the judicial authorities of committing such human rights abuses as blocking the correspondence of Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance of Youth and Students for Korea's Reunification, now in prison and destroying his letters.

The authorities have intensified the suppression of Yun, not content with passing a heavy penalty upon him on the charge of violation of the anachronistic "Security Law", though he only conducted activities for reunification, the statement noted, and went on:

The dictatorial regime is putting anyone desirous of national reunification and opposed to the regime into custody, the statement deplored, declaring that the democratic rights of the people can never be guaranteed nor can the south and the north advance toward the country's reunification hand in hand as long as the Lee Myung Bak regime is allowed to stay in power.
