North Hwanghae Provincial Art Theatre Completed
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- The North Hwanghae Provincial Art Theater has been built as a monumental edifice in the era of Songun.

The more than 900 seater-theater covers a total area of at least 15,000 square meters. It has all facilities for art creation, performances and audience including a modern stage, cutting-edge sound and lighting equipment.

A ceremony for the completion of the theater took place Monday.

Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Thae Bok and others and officials concerned, builders and servicepersons, officials and technicians of the units related to the construction and working people in Sariwon City.

Choe Ryong Hae, chief secretary of the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, said in his speech at the ceremony that the art theater is a palace of culture that sprang up thanks to the great care of General Secretary Kim Jong Il who has devoted his all to the happiness of the people, true to the noble will of President Kim Il Sung--believing in people as in Heaven.

He underscored the need for the officials and employees to value and manage the building and facilities and regularly operate the theatre to contribute to the art creation and people's cultural and emotional life.

That day an inaugural performance was given by the provincial art troupe at the theater.
