UNSC's "Resolution" Rejected in Nepal
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- Fifteen political parties and organizations in Nepal, including the Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), the Worker-Peasant Party, the Peace Action Committee, the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Committee, the Journalist Association, the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association and the Committee for Promotion of Reunification of Korea, made public a joint statement on June 23 in denunciation of the UN Security Council's "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK.

The statement expressed deep apprehensions over the tense situation of the Korean Peninsula getting worse due to the "resolution" cooked up at the instigation of the United States.

It held that the countries concerned of denuclearization of the peninsula should implement to the letter all the agreements reached with the DPRK.

It is the legitimate right of the DPRK and other sovereign states to take every possible measure, including nuclear test, so as to defend their sovereignty from the imperialist forces' hostile actions, the statement said, strongly urging the U.S. to take steps for defusing the tension of the Korean Peninsula by peaceful means, not by sanctions.
