Korean People's Struggle for National Sovereignty Supported in Pakistan
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The Punjab Provincial Committee of the National Workers' Party of Pakistan, the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization, the Peasants Committee and the Trade Union Federation of Pakistan, the Lahore Branch of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association and the Pakistan Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification issued a joint statement on June 18 on the occasion of the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.

The statement said that the second nuclear test conducted by the DPRK can not be a threat to the global peace as it was only the self-defensive measure to cope with the ever-more increasing nuclear threat from the U.S. and its followers.

This measure taken by the DPRK is the legitimate right which is not contrary to any international law, it said, expressing solidarity with the Korean people in the struggle to defend the sovereignty of the country.

It urged the UNSC to discard high-handed and arbitrary practices and retract the "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK.

It called upon the world peace-loving people to express firm solidarity with the Korean people in the struggle to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.

The Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, too, issued a statement on the same day on the occasions of the 9th anniversary of the adoption of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S joint struggle.

The statement expressed strong opposition to the "resolution" on sanctions against the DPRK and its implementation and urged the U.S. to roll back its hostile policy towards the DPRK at once and opt for dialogue with the latter.

It declared that the association would activate the solidarity movement supporting the Korean people in the struggle to defend the sovereignty of the country and peace of the Korean Peninsula during the month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.
