Pine Trees Telling about Kim Jong Suk's Noble Intention
Pyongyang, June 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Suk, the anti-Japanese heroine, visited Mangyongdae Revolutionary School in April Juche 37 (1948) to plant pine trees on the campus.

After exchanging greetings with officials she went up the hill together with young Kim Jong Il, fixed planting sites and began to dig holes.

An official asked her only to guide the planting of the day, not working herself. With a smile on her face, she said she was there to plant trees and how she could look on planting idly. She told him not to worry about her and hasten the work.

The officials tried to dissuade her time and again, but she put a sapling in the hole, saying how nice it was to plant trees around the school on their own.

She planted trees with all care, telling them the trees should be planted with the side with many branches facing the south.

After supporting each tree with sticks, she said she had decided to plant pine trees around the school because she thought it was desirable to plant trees symbolizing the growth and future of the students. She added that she wanted the bereaved children of revolutionary martyrs to grow as stalwart as the ever-green pine trees and pursue the will of their parents.

The pine trees are still standing on the campus of the school with their roots deeply struck.
