The above-said resolution adopted by the UNSC at the instigation of the U.S. imperialists was a vile product of the U.S.-led offensive of international pressure aimed at disarming the DPRK and undermining the DPRK's ideology and system chosen by its people, the statement said, and went on:

The situation on the Korean Peninsula has reached the phase of the most acute confrontation in history due to the moves of the U.S. and its followers to stifle the DPRK.

The DPRK's access to nukes was by no means an option wanted by itself but an inevitable option taken by it to cope with the U.S. hostile policy and nuclear threat. The Korean Peninsula can be nuclear-free only when it is completely free from the U.S. nuclear threat.

All the measures taken by the DPRK were prompted by its desire to protect its sovereignty and dignity and ensure peace and security on the peninsula.

The UNSC would be well advised to think twice, bearing in mind that the increased pressure on its part would only compel the DPRK to take stronger counter-actions against it, the statement warned.
