Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- A performance of the revolutionary opera "The Flower Girl", an immortal classic masterpiece, was given at the Pyongyang Grand Theater on June 19 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
The revolutionary opera "The Flower Girl", an operatic version of a drama of the same title created and performed in the 1930s, is a monumental masterpiece that serves as the genuine textbook of the struggle and life for the revolutionaries. It shines as an eternal treasure of human culture.
The performers, through the fate of Kkotpun and her family, made successful artistic representation of the revolutionary truth that tears and sympathy could not save the destiny of her family and herself, to say nothing of that of the nation, and the only way-out is to fight with the class enemies.
Appreciating the performance were leading officials of the state and the army, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons and working people in the city of Pyongyang.
