The streets and residential quarters of Pyongyang are bedecked in colorful festive attire with words "Glory to The Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il", "Celebration of June 19", "Revolutionary Party of Juche", "Great Leadership, Immortal Feats", "Steel-like Party, Invincible Party".

The flags of the Workers' Party of Korea are fluttering vigorously on the flagpoles in front of the People's Palace of Culture, Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and other monumental edifices and the flags of the DPRK and red banners are hung out here and there in the city, which is pervaded with best wishes of the army and people for leader Kim Jong Il.

In celebration of the significant day, there were colorful functions including a national meeting, celebration gatherings, performance of a foreign dance troupe and public presentation of compositions of foreign students studying in the country.

They extend highest respect and warmest congratulations to leader Kim Jong Il and emphasize that the last 45 years have been a history woven with heroic epic in which he, successfully carrying forward the cause of President Kim Il Sung, has opened up a vigorous era of battles for defending socialism and efforts for building a thriving nation under the uplifted banner of Songun, and a history in which he has brought about a new era of Songun revolution.
