Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the General Association of Koreans in China issued a statement on June 14 in support of the DPRK Foreign Ministry's statement released as regards the fact that at the instigation of the U.S., the United Nations Security Council finally adopted a "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK over its second nuclear test.
Recalling that in the Foreign Ministry's statement the DPRK scathingly denounced and rejected the UNSC "resolution 1874" and solemnly declared it would take resolute countermeasures at this early phase of all-out confrontation with the U.S. in order to defend the national dignity and the country's sovereignty, the statement said:
The situation of acute confrontation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula was sparked off by unlawful strong-arm actions of the U.S. and its obedient UNSC in denial of the legitimate right of a sovereign state to launch satellites.
In essence, this confrontation is an issue related to the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK rather than an issue related to peace and security, and it is the DPRK-U.S. confrontation.
The General Association of Koreans in China and all Korean residents in China fully support the statement of the DPRK Foreign Ministry and will make every possible effort to implement it.
