Lee Myung Bak Group Accused of Sidestepping Solution to Problem of Part-timers
Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Progress of south Korea issued a statement on June 9 denouncing the Lee Myung Bak group for sidestepping the solution to the problem of the part-time workers.

The statement lashed out at the Lee "government" and the "Grand National Party" for contemplating deleting an article from the existing "law on the part-time job" which calls for making part-timers regular workers when the period of hiring them goes beyond two years.

This is little short of a repeated declaration by the present "government" that it would not be responsible for millions of part-timers as it has sought to meet only the interests of the big businesses, talking about "ensuring the flexibility in the labor market," it charged.

Many part-timers have been unreasonably dismissed by enterprise owners and have lost even their lives, the statement noted, adding that the responsibility for this deplorable situation entirely rests with the Lee "government" and the GNP that have followed an economic policy in favor of the big businesses.

If the motion calling for the retrogressive revision of "the law on the part-time job" is brought up for discussion at the "extraordinary session of National Assembly", the workers will intensify the struggle to judge the present regime forsaken by the people, the statement stressed.
