The statement recognized that the historic June 15 joint declaration provided by General Secretary Kim Jong Il is a signpost of Korea's reunification and a great programme for achieving independent reunification as it put the inter-Korean relations onto a new orbit.

It strongly denounced the Lee Myung Bak group for its reckless anachronistic confrontational act of totally denying the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, bringing back the fascist dictatorial era and escalating the confrontation with the north.

It expressed full support and solidarity with the Korean people in their struggle to reenergize the movement for national reunification in the idea of "By our nation itself" under the slogan "Let us dynamically advance along the road of independent reunification, holding aloft the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration!" this year.

It hailed the resolute and strong counter-measures taken by the DPRK against the criminal acts the U.S. and its followers perpetrated by abusing the UNSC over the DPRK's recent satellite launch for peaceful purposes and its successful nuclear test conducted to defend its supreme interests.

It called upon all the political parties, governments and organizations of the world desirous of peace and reunification of Korea to positively support and encourage the struggle of the Workers' Party and people of Korea to foil the moves of the anti-reunification forces and achieve the independent reunification of the country under the banner of the historic June 15 joint declaration.
