Work Brisk to Protect and Propagate Aquatic Resources
Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- A work to protect and propagate aquatic resources is making brisk headway at the Office for Stocking the River Songchon with Fishes of the DPRK.

It built a salmon hatchery and has since successfully solved scientific and technical issues arising in breeding salmons.

The officials, workers and technicians there have conducted an effective work for collecting and hatching spawns to suit the ecological characteristics of salmon, while making a deep-going study of the quality of water in the river, places for spawning and its period, etc. and, on this basis, have energetically pushed ahead with the work for propagating salmon.

It also succeeded in studying and introducing quality assorted feed, making it possible to more effectively breed young salmons. It is successfully conducting the work to protect salmons in close touch with the institution concerned.

The young salmons bred at the office are now finding their way to the East Sea.
