Signature Campaign Launched in Finland
Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- "A signature campaign for supporting the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea" was launched under the co-sponsorship of the Finnish Communists' Association and the Finland-Korea Society.

A ceremony of declaring the signature campaign took place in Helsinki on June 3.

Antti Sika-Aho, chairman of the society, in his speech made at the ceremony condemned the Lee Myung Bak conservative authorities of south Korea for pursuing the policy of confrontation with the DPRK in collusion with foreign forces in violation of the declarations adopted between the north and the south, driving the inter-Korean relations into total collapse.

The Lee conservative authorities should properly understand the importance of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration, a programme for putting it into practice, as they were provided by the top leaders of the north and the south, unconditionally implement them and immediately roll back the hostile policy toward the DPRK, he urged.

The proposal for achieving the country's reunification advanced by President Kim Il Sung is the most reasonable and fair and aboveboard one, he pointed out, calling for staging the said signature campaign till June 15, 2010, the 10th anniversary of the publication of the historic North-South Joint Declaration.

He urged the U.S. to withdraw its armed forces from south Korea at once and let the Korean people independently and peacefully solve the Korean problem by their own efforts in their interests.
