The bulletin in an article said that the DPRK called for injecting fresh energy into the movement for achieving national reunification, the unanimous desire of the Koreans and the urgent supreme task of the nation, in its joint editorial for this year.

It continued:

The movement for Korea's reunification which had made dynamic advance since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration faced blatant challenge after the south Korean conservative forces came to power last year.

The Lee Myung Bak regime totally denied the inter-Korean declarations supported and welcomed not only by all Koreans but by the whole world, suspending the dialogue, cooperation and exchange that had been under way in various fields.

The development of the inter-Korean relations and the reunification of the country can hardly be expected under the situation where both sides antagonize each other and the military tension is escalated.

When the spirit of getting reconciled and cooperating with each other for independent reunification, peace and prosperity prevails in Korea, the movement for Korea's reunification will make more dynamic advance.

The cause of reunification is sure to triumph when all Koreans in the north and the south and overseas give momentum to the atmosphere of reconciliation and unity under the banner of independent reunification.
