Youth and Students Called upon to Take Lead in Anti- "Government" Struggle
Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- The Action Headquarters of the 17th-term south Korean Federation of University Student Councils released a manifesto on May 27 calling upon the youth and students to take the lead in the struggle, holding aloft the slogans "Lee Myung Bak regime, step down! Disorganize Myung Bak's prosecution! Protect democracy!"

The manifesto accused Lee of having resorted to the wholesale crackdown upon organizations and opposition figures calling for progress, reforms and democracy while talking about the "lost decade" as soon as he came to power.

It charged that the era of fascist dictatorship has arrived at south Korea again in less than one year of Lee's office.

Recalling that those who benefit from the Lee regime are only a tiny handful of plutocrats and privileged circles, the manifesto deplored that how many more people are fated to meet deaths under the present regime in south Korea which is represented by Lee and his servants keen on the fascist dictatorship and which allows police to burn inhabitants to death and "the Grand National Party" to ride roughshod and the prosecution to conduct excessive coercive investigation.

One can never remain a passive onlooker to the corrupt reality today, the manifesto noted, appealing to all the youth and students to devote the spirit and enthusiasm of the young people to the struggle for judging the Lee regime.
